decided back in 2018 that I no longer wanted to work a traditional 9 - 5 and all that it entails. I was tired of working for other people and having it encroach on my personal time. I always had dreams of being an entrepreneur to run my own business.

I couldn't believe it...
at first that I was actually going to take the steps to have my own home inspection business. It was a scary thought initially and it did not help that I failed the National Exam the first time I took it, but I persevered. I was able to regroup and focus to pass the exam on my second attempt.
I made this change and...
now I have a growing home inspection business. Each year I have earned more than the year before. Having autonomy in my schedule allows me to set my own hours for when I want to work during the week. No longer do I have to ask for permission for a day off or vacation time. I now get to take my son to school everyday, his doctors appointments, spend more time with my family. and have more leisure time.

when I started teaching the pre-licensing home inspection course at the local college in my area I knew I could help aspiring home inspectors and new home inspectors. I knew I could apply my years of experience in education to preparing aspiring and new home inspectors avoid the pitfalls I made and become successful in this industry.
